Change IP addresses in high availability configurations

If we change the IP addresses of any of the interfaces in a high availability configuration, high availability operation is no longer available and the queue manager will not run on the node where the addresses were changed.

You specify up to three IP addresses for HA operation in the rdqm.ini file. If we have already changed the Pacemaker monitor addresses, we must temporarily restore them to their original values before following the procedure. Otherwise it is not possible to delete the HA RDQM queue manager.
  1. Remove the HA configuration on each node. You remove HA by backing up the queue managers and then deleting them, see Backing up and restoring IBM MQ queue manager data and Delete an HA RDQM, and then removing the HA group itself, see Delete the Pacemaker cluster (HA group).
  2. Re-create the HA configuration with the new IP addresses, see Defining the Pacemaker cluster (HA group).
  3. Recreate the HA queue managers and restore the back up, see Create an HA RDQM and Backing up and restoring IBM MQ queue manager data.
