Configure Liberty for the batch REST API

WebSphere Application Server Liberty includes a RESTful management interface to manage your Java batch jobs. Managed batch enables a secure HTTPS REST interface so we can externally manage your Java batch jobs.

1. Add the batchManagement-1.0 feature to server.xml.

   <featureManager>
   	<feature>batchManagement-1.0</feature>
   </featureManager>

2. Configure batch persistence by configuring the databaseStore used by the Java batch feature. Reference the databaseStore in server.xml using the jobStoreRef element. The following example illustrates what server.xml should look like.

   <batchPersistence jobStoreRef="BatchDatabaseStore" />
   
   <databaseStore id="BatchDatabaseStore" dataSourceRef="batchDB" />

3. Create an SSL certificate and user registry in server.xml, so that batchManagement-1.0 automatically enables the SSL feature.

   <keyStore id="defaultKeyStore" password="Liberty"/>
   			
   <basicRegistry id="basic" realm="ibm/api">
   	<user name="bob" password="bobpwd" />
   	<user name="jane" password="janepwd" />
   </basicRegistry>
   

   Important: The default self-signed SSL certificate in this example is intended only for development use and not for production.

The RESTful interface is now configured for the Liberty server.
