Use the IBM Connections Tags portlet

The IBM Connections Tags portlet lets you filter Connections content by tag from within IBM WebSphere Portal.

The Tags portlet lets you interact with the IBM Connections tag cloud feature so you can access Connections content by tag without leaving the IBM WebSphere Portal environment. The portlet has two views, list and cloud.

The list view displays tags in a list with the number of times the tag is used next to it. The cloud view displays tags in a visual collection where more frequently used tags are marked in larger, darker font. Use the slider control at the top of the cloud to reduce or expand the number of tags that display.

To personalize a portlet, do the following:

Procedure

  1. From the Portlet menu, which is available from the down-arrow icon to the right, select Personalize.

  2. Enter a User Name and Password or update this information if it has changed.

  3. Click OK to save your changes or Cancel to return to the view without saving your changes.

Edit shared settings

Edit the settings shared across all the IBM Connections portlets.

About this task

You must have at least editor access for the page and for the portlet to be able to edit shared settings for Connections features. For more information about access levels, see the WebSphere Portal Information Center. The shared settings mode allows the portlet editor to set which Connections services are represented in the tag cloud.

To edit shared settings...

Procedure

  1. From the Portlet menu, select Edit Shared Settings.

  2. Enter a User Name and Password or update this information if it has changed.

  3. Check the IBM Connections services if you want tags for that content represented in the tag cloud. You can choose all blogs or specify a single blog.

  4. If you choose a single Connections service, you can also specify a default view to match the default setting in the corresponding portlet. For example, if you choose Blogs, and you have specified Latest Entries as the default view in the Blogs portlet, you can specify Latest Entries as the default view so that tags for that view display in the tag cloud.

  5. Click OK to save your changes or Cancel to return to the view without saving your changes.
