Securing access to seedlist SPIs
Make sure that you secure the seedlist SPIs.
About this task
The search-admin J2EE role is used by each IBM Connections application for securing access to seedlists and search engines. The search-admin role is populated by default with the IBM Connections administrator user account that was provided to the IBM Connections installation wizard. The search-admin role can be reused with an independent search engine or alternative credentials can be specified. To add users to the search-admin role for each IBM Connections application, see Switching to unique administrator IDs for system level communication. To secure access to the seedlist SPIs, perform the following tasks:
- Ensure that the search-admin credentials are not compromised.
- If your IBM Connections server is accessible from the public Internet, prevent access to the seedlist SPI web addresses from outside your company's firewall. Consult your network administrator or firewall software vendor for information about how to configure your network so the SPI addresses are not allowed through the firewall.
