Rolling back a migration 

If a migration fails, you can roll back your environment to the previous one.

Before you begin

Ensure that you have a back-up copy of your installation environment.

About this task

Rolling back your IBM Connections environment ensures that you have a clean environment before attempting the migration again.

To roll back your IBM Connections environment...


  1. Restore your databases from the back-up that you made. Use your native database tools.

  2. Restore your IBM Connections installation directory from the back-up.

  3. Restore your WAS profile directory and the profileRegistry.xml file from the back-up.

  4. Restore the WAS dmgr profile directory: profile_root/Dmgr01. For example: D:\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\dmgr.
