Restore the search index

If you have created a backup copy of the search index, you can use this copy to restore the index in the event of loss or corruption.

For information about creating a backup copy of the search index, see Backing up the search index. To restore the search index in the event of loss or corruption...

IBM Lotus Connections features maintain delete and access-control update information for a maximum of 30 days. Indexes that are more than 30 days old are not considered suitable for restoration because they might contain obsolete or orphan content.

  1. Stop the search server.

  2. Delete the index and all its subdirectories from the IBM Lotus Connections search data

  3. Copy the backup index and all its subdirectories into the search

  4. Restore the HOMEPAGE.SR_FILESCONTENT table. Import the previously-exported contents of the HOMEPAGE.SR_FILESCONTENT table if available.

  5. Restart the server. The next indexing task resumes indexing at the point at which the restored index was last successfully indexed.
