Synchronize IDs between LDAP and the feature databases

If you need to update the unique IDs that identify the people who are using the Lotus Connections features, after an LDAP change, for example, you can do so. Each feature provides one or more administrative commands that you can use to synchronize the unique member IDs in the feature databases with those in the LDAP

You may need to perform a synchronization, for example, during a pilot to production installation migration or after you delete a set of users or groups and add them back into the LDAP When members are added a second time, they are assigned new unique IDs. You must perform a synchronization in order for those users to continue to be able access data that they added previously. When you remove and add a user back into the LDAP or when you move from one LDAP server to another, retain at least one user identifier key that was used before because the synchronization task requires at least one consistent identifier to be able to synchronize the data. Conserve at least one of the following identifier keys:

There is no single command that synchronizes the IDs in all of the features at once. Refer to the topics in each feature section to find out how to synchronize the unique IDs for that individual feature.
