Administer discussion forums
Use administrative commands to supervise the content in a community's discussion forum, manage the forum trash, and schedule jobs for the forum.
Every community has a discussion forum associated with it, where community members can post topics relevant to the community and other members can respond to them. From time to time, you may need to restore content that has been deleted in error, make changes to the jobs being handled by a scheduler, and perform other administrative tasks as required.
- Delete discussion forum topics
As administrator, you can monitor the content of community discussion forums and remove unwanted or inappropriate topics if necessary.- Retrieving discussion forum information
Use administrative commands to retrieve information relating to community discussion forums. You do not need to check the configuration file in and out, or restart the Communities server when using these commands.- Manage forum trash
To retrieve or restore deleted content from the trash, you can use the CommForumTrashService commands to do so with immediate effect.- Purge forum trash
Edit settings in the communities-config.xml file to configure the discussion forum trash purge schedule. You can define the interval at which the task runs by configuring the interval property, which uses a Cron schedule.
