IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Application Diagnostics, Version 7.1.0.1

CYNCR8390E: Internet Explorer Enhanced Security is set on high for the internet zone. This setting must be medium or lower.

Explanation

Internet Explorer Enhanced Security for the internet zone must be set to a medium level for the agent to operate properly on Windows 2003. If the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security is set at high, the agent never shows an online state after installation.

The Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration component (also known as Microsoft Internet Explorer hardening) reduces a server's vulnerability to attacks from Web content by applying more restrictive Internet Explorer security settings. As a result, Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration can prevent some Web sites from displaying properly or performing as expected.

Operator response

Change the Internet zone security setting from high to medium. To change the security setting, take the following action

  1. Open Internet Explorer and select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. On the Security tab select Internet.

  3. Move the slider bar at the bottom of the window to select a medium or lower security level.

  4. Click OK to apply the changes.
