IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Application Diagnostics, Version 7.1.0.1
CYNCR8302E: The UID is already defined on this computer.
Explanation
The installation program found that the value you entered in the Uid field already exists in the /etc/passwd file. On UNIX-based systems, the UID or Unique Identifier must be unique for each user that is defined in the /etc/passwd file.
Operator response
Take one of the following actions:
- Enter a valid UID that is not already being used in the Uid field.
- Use an existing user rather than trying to create a new user.
- Delete the user using this UID value from the /etc/passwd file
- Change the user's line in the /etc/passwd file so that it uses a unique UID value.
Note:
- You do not need to exit the installation program to create a user or group. When you are finished, enter the UID value in the Uid field.
- To work with users and groups, you can use the admintool on Solaris, smit on AIX, linuxconf on Linux, or any text editor such as VI.
