IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Application Diagnostics, Version 7.1.0.1

Enable Configuration Management Database Discovery Library integration and executing the feature

ITCAM for Application Diagnostics has a feature that can extract relevant resources and relationships from ITCAM for Application Diagnostics's database to be retrieved and stored by the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), which is the central source of information in the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL). This feature produces XML files from the monitoring information contained within ITCAM for Application Diagnostics's database. The CMDB Discovery Library can then store these XML files in its warehouse of IdML book files.

Only CICS/IMS related transaction information is exported into the CMDB.

To enable and use this feature:

  1. Ensure that the server where the Managing Server is installed has write access to the file system that contains the CMDB Discovery Library repositories of IdML book files.

  2. (optional) Copy the MS_home/etc/cmdb/TCAMfWAS.zip file to a new directory.

  3. Extract the file into the current directory.

  4. Modify the adapter.properties file to reflect the settings for your Managing Server. See the comments in the file for instructions for modifying the file.

  5. Modify the script in that directory (dlAdapter.sh) to point to the location of the database JDBC drivers (.jar files) for your Managing Server.

  6. Modify dlAdapter.sh to have the correct Java path for the Java files on your Managing Server.
