Run the stand-alone version of Packaging Utility
Overview
You can run IBM Packaging Utility without installing Packaging Utility.
To run Packaging Utility without installing, you must use the stand-alone version of Packaging Utility. The stand-alone version of Packaging Utility is included on the Enterprise CD with IBM Installation Manager and IBM Packaging Utility.
Not all products are packaged with the Enterprise CD. Check your product installation files to see if the Enterprise CD is included with your product.
You cannot use the Packaging Utility to install Installation Manager. You must have Installation Manager installed on the local machine to use a repository created by Packaging Utility.
You cannot use Installation Manager to update the stand-alone version of Packaging Utility. When a later version of Packaging Utility is available, you must acquire and run that version of the stand-alone Packaging Utility. If you installed Packaging Utility, you can use Installation Manager to update Packaging Utility. See Install Packaging Utility for information about installing Packaging Utility.
