Update Installation Manager
Overview
You can update IBM Installation Manager without uninstalling packages that were installed using Installation Manager.
When you select the Search for Installation Manager updates check box in the Updates preference window, Installation Manager checks only the packages you are installing, modifying, or updating for newer versions of the installer. This preference does not check repositories for newer versions of Installation Manager if the installer files are not included with package installation files.
You cannot add the repository.config file from the Installation Manager installation files as a repository to update Installation Manager.
Update Installation Manager
- Close Installation Manager before starting the update process.
- Download the latest version of Installation Manager.
- Extract the contents of the compressed file.
- Start the installation:
./install
- In the Install Packages window, click Next.
- Accept the license agreement and click Next.
- Click Install.
- When Installation Manager finishes updating, click Restart Installation Manager.
