Uninstall Packaging Utility using console mode


Overview

You can use console mode to uninstall packages.

You must log in with a user account that has the same privileges as the account that was used to install the packages that you want to uninstall.

A selected option is indicated by [X]. An option that is not selected is indicated by [ ]. At the command prompt, default commands are indicated by [ ]. You can click Enter to accept the default entry or enter a different command. For example, [N] indicates that the default command is N: Next.


Uninstall Packaging Utility

  1. Close Packaging Utility.

  2. Start Installation Manager in console mode imcl -c

  3. Enter 5: Uninstall - Remove the installed software packages.

  4. Enter N: Next. The Next option shows only when you have selected a package group. The IBM Packaging Utility packaging group is selected by default. You might have more than one package group listed.

  5. Enter 1: [ ] IBM Packaging Utility version.

    1. Enter N: Next to continue.

  6. In the Summary panel, review your selections before starting the uninstall process.

    • To generate a response file, enter G: Generate uninstall response file. Enter the name of the response file. You can include a directory location when entering the response file name to save the file to a different location.

    1. Enter U: Uninstall.

  7. When the uninstall completes, enter F: Finish.
