Synchronize with imported packages

After you import an existing package in to IBM Installation Manager, the Installation Manager data might need to be updated with new information about the imported package if changes are made to the package using a tool other than Installation Manager.

To keep imported packages synchronized with Installation Manager, we must configure repository connections correctly and verify that we can access the network or repository media.

After we updated the existing package using a tool other than Installation Manager, we can use the Import wizard to import the package or we can use the automatic synchronization function.

Procedure

• Follow the procedure described in Import existing installed packages in Installation Manager to import the package.

• When you start Installation Manager or one of the wizards and the application detects that the Installation Manager data must be synchronized with the imported-package information, click Yes when prompted for access to the repositories.
