View installation history in Installation Manager

View the installation history of installed packages.

Use the Installation Manager user interface to view the installation history of installed packages.

Procedure

  1. In Installation Manager, go to File > Installation History. An Installation History window opens.

    1. The Installation History window provides a table of information about installation dates, activities, package group names, status, and packages. At the bottom of the window is a Details section that includes more information about installation times and features.

    2. To view the Installation History window information in a web browser, click the Open installation history file icon: Open installation history file. An All History Files window shows. Click an installation history file. An Install History window shows with a table of information about installation dates, times, activities, package names, and feature IDs.

  2. Select an installation activity from the Installation History window. Click View Log. An Installation Log window shows.

    1. In the Installation Log window, click a log. A table shows the log event severity, description, message ID, and event date. To search for information about a message ID, see Installation Manager and Packaging Utility error messages.

  3. Click Close to return to the Installation History window.

  4. Click Close to return to Installation Manager.
