Export data for problem analysis

We can generate a compressed file that contains data for analyzing installation problems. IBM Software Support can use this file to help troubleshoot issues that you encounter with IBM Installation Manager.

This task is for exporting problem analysis data when you encounter difficulties during installations using the Installation Manager wizard. To export data silently, see Export data for problem analysis for silent installations.

Procedure

To export installation data for problem analysis:

  1. In Installation Manager, go to Help > Export Data for Problem Analysis.

  2. In the Export Installation Data window, click Browse to select a directory location for the compressed file.

  3. Enter a name for the compressed file.

  4. Click OK.


Results

A compressed file that contains the installation data is created.
