Set the appearance preference in console mode (imcl -c)

We can set a preference to show version details of the package that we install.

When the option is selected, we see the internal version of a package during the installation process. The internal version includes the release number, the year, month, and day of the release, and the package ID. The internal version of a package does not show on the Appearance page.

Procedure

To show the internal version of a package:

1. Start Installation Manager in console mode: imcl -c. For more information, see Start IIM in console mode.

2. Enter P: Preferences.

3. Enter 2: Appearance.

4. Enter 1: Show the internal version for the package. A selected option is indicated by an X in brackets: [X].

5. Enter A: Apply Changes and Return to Preferences Menu.

6. Enter R: Return to Main Menu.
