Curam Development Environment
The Curam Development Environment includes the Curam Application Development Environment (ADE). It also includes various supporting IBM and third-party Java development tools with which you can customize Curam applications.
For development only, you can choose to work with the H2 database that is bundled with the Curam software. However, if you want to deploy and test applications, you must install and configure one of the supported enterprise database and application server combinations.

- Developer tools
- The following developer tools can be used to develop Curam applications:
- A build tool
- Apache Ant.
- A database management system (DBMS)
- H2 database (development only).
If you prefer, you can install and configure one of the supported enterprise databases in your environment. For example, you might prefer the stability of an enterprise database for critical product demonstrations.- IBM DB2 database.
- Oracle database.
- An integrated development environment (IDE)
- Eclipse and Apache Tomcat.
- IBM Rational Application Developer.
Although technical support is not provided for any particular IDE, the listed IDEs have been tested for use with Curam software. However, you can choose to use any Java IDE for Curam development.
- A modeling tool
- IBM Rational Software Architect.
- The Java Platform
- Java Platform, Standard Edition.
- Java Platform, Enterprise Edition.
