Selecting business objects and services

To specify the objects you want to import, you use the external service wizard.

Verify that you have set the connection properties for the external service wizard.

To find and select one or more objects, use the following procedure.


Procedure

  1. In the Find Objects in the Enterprise System window, click the object you want to work with, and then click the arrow to move it to the selected set.

    To see children of an object, click the plus sign.

  2. In the Specify the Configuration Properties for 'object' window, specify configuration properties for the object. (This window is available only if you select the Prompt for additional configuration settings when adding a business object check box on the Specify the Discovery Properties window.)

    1. Select the field name to use for performing logical deletes.

    2. In the Value used to indicate a deleted object field, type the status value used to indicate that an object is no longer active.

    3. If you want to use alternate keys during RetrieveAll operations, click Add and select the key fields you want to use.

  3. To set additional parameters, click Advanced.

    1. Click the Additional properties section, and select from the following options:

      • At the Preserve objects in parent update operation box, click Add and select the child objects.

      • At the Field that represents generated keys in PeopleSoft box, click Add and select the fields.

    2. Click the Effective date configuration section, and select from the following effective date options:

      • Retrieve only current effective dated item: The corresponding ASI is GetCurrentItem.
      • Insert at oldest effective date position: The corresponding ASI is InsAtOldestEffDtPos.
      • Insert at current effective date position: The corresponding ASI is InsAtCurrentEffDtPos.
      • Ignore effective sequence number: The corresponding ASI is IgnoreEffectiveSequence.
      • Field that represents effective date value: Enables effectiveDate flag to true or false for EFFDT (effective date) field as ASI.
      • Field that represents effective date sequence: Enables effectiveSequence flag to true or false for EFFSEQ (effective sequence) field as ASI.

  4. Click OK to add the object to the list of objects to be imported.

  5. When you select all objects, click Next.


Results

You selected one or more objects to work with.
