Selecting business objects and services

Use the list of objects discovered by the external service wizard to select the IBM i server business objects that you need to access in your module. Then provide configuration information for your new business objects.

Before you can set the properties in this section, you must have create your adapter module. It should be displayed in IBM Integration Designer below the adapter project. For more information about creating the adapter project, see Create the project

To set connection properties, follow this procedure. For more information about any of the properties in this topic, see the reference topic devoted to activation specification properties in this documentation.

  1. In the Find Objects in the Enterprise System window, select an object from the Discovered objects pane. For LIFO or FIFO data queue polling, select appropriate data queue object.

    For example in the above figure one of the FIFO data queues is FIFOQ.DTAQ. When you point to the data queue, the details such as data queue type, message maximum length and description, and so on, are displayed as tooltip. .

  2. Click the > (Add) button. The added objects are displayed in the Selected objects pane.

  3. When the Selected objects list in the Find Objects in the Enterprise System window contains all of the business objects you want to use in your application, click Next. The Specify Composite Properties window is displayed.

As long as you do not exit from the wizard, you can work iteratively to select and configure the business objects you need in your module. After you exit the wizard, you cannot use it to change or add objects to an existing module, so be careful to understand the requirements of the program that uses the business objects before you start the wizard.
