Defining business objects
Create business objects or import predefined business objects that is to be used by the module. WebSphere Adapter for Email uses business objects to either obtain information from an email or to produce an email.
You use the business object editor to create new business objects or import predefined business objects.
These steps must only be used for payload business objects (such as Customer and Order) and not for top-level email business objects (wrappers). Wrapper business objects are created by the external service wizard.
Procedure
- To create new business objects, complete these steps.
- Expand the new module in the Business Integration section of the IBM Integration Designer window.
- Right-click the Data Types folder and select New > Business Object.
- In the Business Object window, type a name in the Name field.
- Click Finish. The new business object is added to the Data Types folder.
- Click the Add a field to a business object icon and add the necessary fields to the business object.
- Click the Save icon.
- Repeat the previous steps for each business object to create.
- To import predefined business objects, complete these steps.
- Expand the new module located inside of the Business Integration section of the IBM Integration Designer window.
- Right-click the Data Types folder and select Import.
- In the Select window, expand General and click File System.
- Click Next.
- Browse to the directory with the XSD file and click OK.
- Select one or more business object XSD files and click Finish.
Results
The new business objects are defined.
