Set up autotracking

You need to set up autotracking before you can use the ad hoc wizard. When autotracking is enabled for a BPD, data for any nested processes of that BPD will also be tracked. Subprocesses and services inherit the setting of the parent process.

To use autotracking...

Procedure

  1. Open the business process definition (BPD) in IBM Process Designer.

  2. Click the Tracking tab for the BPD.
  3. Ensure Enable Autotracking is selected.

  4. In the Autotracking Name field, enter the name you want to use.

  5. In order to analyze process data according to particular business variable values, set the variables as follows.

    1. Click the Variables tab for the diagram.

    2. For each variable you want to track, right click it and then click Track this Variable.
  6. Save your changes.

  7. Click File > Update tracking definitions to send the new tracking requirements to the Business Performance Data Warehouse.

Results

When you run instances of the process, IBM BPM stores the tracked data for each variable in the appropriate column. Each row in a Tracking Group view represents a discrete unit of tracked data.
