Identifying expert users for an activity

Business users working with your process applications can collaborate or request assistance from a set of expert users associated with a given task or activity. This list of experts appears in the Experts panel in the Process Portal environment.

An activity must be associated with a human service before it can be assigned experts.

The set of experts listed for an activity is defined in two ways:

Procedure

  1. To explicitly specify a group of experts for an activity, open the business process diagram in Process Designer and select the activity.

  2. Go to the Assignments tab in the Properties view.

  3. Specify the relevant participant group in the Expert Group field. If you have not already created a participant group to identify the experts for this task, you can create new participant group to use.

What to do next

Your BPM administrator can configure the participant groups at run time to ensure that the correct set of users are identified as experts for the activity in the Process Portal.
