Importing assets from the asset repository
You can import an asset (such as a WebSphere Business Modeler project or a monitor model from another Business Monitor developer) from the asset repository to use in the Business Monitor development toolkit. By reusing an asset that already exists, you can save time and effort in your business monitoring project.
Before importing an asset, first search for or browse to the asset you want. See Browsing assets in the asset repository.
You can import one or more business monitoring projects, monitor models, Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) diagrams, or event definitions (XSD or Common Base Event).
To import an asset from the asset repository:
Procedure
- Open the Asset Repositories view and click Business Process Management > IBM Business Monitor. If you are importing an asset from another product, click Business Process Management > IBM WebSphere Business Modeler or Business Process Management > IBM Integration Designer. Selecting an asset from the IBM WebSphere Business Modeler section will import the monitor model associated with the asset.
- To open the Import wizard, right-click the asset in the tree, and select Import Asset.
- If you see a Select product window, select IBM Business Monitor and click Next.
- If the selected assets have dependencies, select the assets to include.
For example, if you selected a monitor model, any referenced event definitions or Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) files in the same project are shown so that you can choose to import those assets at the same time. By default, all of the dependencies are imported unless they are already in the workspace or you specify otherwise. Click Next.
- If you selected an asset that must be imported into a project, select the target project in your workspace, or click the New Folder
icon to create a new project. Click Next.
- To review the Summary page, click Next. After reviewing the summary, click Finish.
If there are conflicts, you are asked whether you want to overwrite each of the existing elements with the new ones.
User-defined XPath function JAR files are added at the project level. If your monitor model requires JAR files, import the project that contains the monitor model rather than importing the monitor model by itself.
Results
You have imported an asset from the asset repository. If you import a monitor model developed in WebSphere Business Modeler from the asset repository and then later export the monitor model to the asset repository again, the monitor model is added to the asset repository as a separate asset under IBM Business Monitor.
