Configure Rational Asset Manager

Before using IBM Rational Asset Manager to store business process management assets, first configure it to function as an asset repository for the Business Monitor development toolkit. This topic includes configuration information for Rational Asset Manager 7.1, Rational Asset Manager 7.1.1.1, and Rational Asset Manager 7.2.

To configure Rational Asset Manager, first have installed Rational Asset Manager Toolkit. If you did not, use Installation Manager to modify the Business Monitor development toolkit package and include the Asset repository client feature.

Configure Rational Asset Manager 7.1

To configure Rational Asset Manager 7.1 for use as an asset repository for the Business Monitor development toolkit, follow these steps:

  1. Log into the Rational Asset Manager web client as an administrator. The default URL syntax is http://host:port/com.ibm.ram.repository.web/home.faces.

  2. Click the Administration tab to open the Administration page.

  3. In the Repository Administration options, select Tools to open the Tools page.

  4. In the Import and Export Model section of the Tools page, click Browse and locate the repository profile, profile_7.0.0.000.zip, which is located in the repositoryProfile folder where installed the Business Monitor development toolkit.

    If installed the toolkit using the default settings, the location is Integration_Designer_INSTALL_ROOT\repositoryProfile\profile_7.0.0.000.zip.

  5. Click Import.

  6. On the Library Import Summary page, click Import and Replace.


Configure Rational Asset Manager 7.1.1.1

To configure Rational Asset Manager 7.1.1.1 for use as an asset repository for the Business Monitor development toolkit, follow these steps:

  1. Log into the Rational Asset Manager web client as an administrator. The default URL syntax is http://host:port/com.ibm.ram.repository.web/home.faces.

  2. Click the Administration tab to open the Administration page.

  3. In the Repository Administration options, select Libraries to open the Libraries page.

  4. In the Import Libraries section of the Libraries page, click Browse and locate the repository profile, profile_7.0.0.000.zip, which is located in the repositoryProfile folder where installed the Business Monitor development toolkit. If installed the toolkit using the default settings, the location is Integration_Designer_INSTALL_ROOT\repositoryProfile\profile_7.0.0.000.zip.

  5. Click Import.

  6. Enter a Name and Version for the library, for example, Business Process Management Profile and 7.0. Click OK.
  7. Under Library Actions, click Enable.
  8. Review the Repository conflicts information to verify that there are no conflicts and then click Next.
  9. Review the Library conflicts information to verify that there are no conflicts and then click Next.
  10. Review the Summary information for the profile and then click Enable.


Configure Rational Asset Manager 7.2

To configure Rational Asset Manager 7.2 for use as an asset repository for the Business Monitor development toolkit, follow these steps:

  1. Log into the Rational Asset Manager web client as an administrator. The default URL syntax is http://host:port/com.ibm.ram.repository.web/home.faces.

  2. Click the Administration tab to open the Administration page.

  3. In the Repository Administration options, select Libraries to open the Libraries page.

  4. In the Import Libraries section of the Libraries page, click Browse and locate the repository profile, profile_7.0.0.000.zip, which is located in the repositoryProfile folder where installed the Business Monitor development toolkit. If installed the toolkit using the default settings, the location is Integration_Designer_INSTALL_ROOT\repositoryProfile\profile_7.0.0.000.zip.

  5. Click Import.
  6. Under Library Actions, click Enable.
  7. Review the Repository conflicts information to verify that there are no conflicts and then click Next.
  8. Review the Library conflicts information to verify that there are no conflicts and then click Next.
  9. Review the Summary information for the profile and then click Enable.

After completing this task, you can use Rational Asset Manager with WebSphere Business Modeler, Integration Designer, or the Business Monitor development toolkit. You do not need to reconfigure Rational Asset Manager for each of these products.

Sharing assets
