Relationship models
Relationships are created by defining model data. There are primarily two different data models used within the relationship editor: relationship models and relationship instance models. The relationship models are stored in .rel and .role files and the relationship instance models are stored in .ri files (.ri files are not visible in the Business Integration view, they can only be seen in the Physical Resources view).
- Relationship model - this model covers the relationship and the roles, which are used for the relationship and role definitions.
- Relationship instance model - this model is used for lookup relationships when static instance data is defined in the relationship editor.
The following topics provide more information on the data models:
- Relationship model objects
Relationship model objects are objects within the relationship model that have attributes to further define a relationship. The primary objects in the relationship model are Relationship, Role, Role Object, Key Attribute, and Property.- Relationship instance data model objects
Relationship instance data model objects are objects within the relationship instance data model that have attributes which contain the data which should be used for a lookup relationship. The primary objects in the relationship model are Relationship Instance, Instance Data, Role Instance, Key Attribute Value, and Property Value.
