Deprecated and removed features of IBM BPM

IBM BPM extends capabilities found in previous versions of IBM Integration Developer, WebSphere Lombardi Edition, IBM BPM, WebSphere Process Server, WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus, and other business process management products. Some features of those products are deprecated and removed in IBM BPM V8.0.1.

The following items are deprecated in IBM BPM 8.0.1 from previous releases.
Deprecated functions Description Action
Business Process Choreographer JMS API Business Process Choreographer is an enterprise workflow engine that supports both BPEL processes and human tasks in a WebSphere Application Server environment. The Business Process Choreographer JMS API is deprecated in IBM BPM V8.0.1. To develop JMS-based client applications, use the Business Process Choreographer web services API be used with the SOAP/JMS transport protocol. See Business Process Choreographer web services API.
Selectors Selector components provide a single interface to a service that might change results based on certain criteria. The selector component includes an interface and a selector table. This functionality is deprecated in IBM BPM V8.0.1. Use a mediation flow component. See Converting interface map components to mediation flows.
Interface maps An interface map sets up a correspondence between the operations and the parameters of the interfaces in your process. Interface maps are deprecated in IBM BPM V8.0.1. An interface map performs mapping operations between two interfaces when the operation on the originating interface has different names and different parameters than the operation on the destination interface. You can build a mediation flow that does the same thing.

Use a mediation flow component. You can also choose to convert your interface map to a mediation flow component. See Converting interface map components to mediation flows.

IBM Forms in IBM Integration Designer The generation of IBM Forms is deprecated in IBM Integration Designer for IBM BPM V8.0.1. IBM Integration Designer wizards were used to generate an initial human task user interface for IBM Forms. Use one of the following methods to replace this initial generated human task user interface.

  • HTML-Dojo forms

  • WebSphere Portal portlets

  • Author a custom user interface using your choice of technology, including IBM Forms, leveraging the business process, and human task APIs.

See Defining user interfaces for a human task and Use IBM Forms Server API and IBM Forms Viewer with IBM BPM for more information.

com.ibm.bpc.clientmodel.BFMConnection: getObserver/setObserver
