Search for process instances
Use the Process Inspector to search for process instances on a process server.
Procedure
- Open the Process Inspector.
When you open the Process Inspector from the http:// host_name: port/ProcessAdmin/ProcessInspector/ URL or from the Process Inspector link on the Process Admin Console toolbar, a list of all process instances on a Process Server is displayed. If no search parameters are specified, the search results are sorted by date of last action in descending order, with the newest process on top.
If you open the Process Inspector by clicking items on the Process Status summary on the Process Admin Console Server Admin page, the search results that appear include only the process instances you clicked, such as all failed process instances, or all the process instances for a particular process application that you clicked. Check boxes are marked for the status that is displayed.
- Change the results that appear by selecting options to filter the process instances by status, by the process application, by person, or by date range, or by searching for text.
To find the process instances you need, use one or more of the following filter and search options:
- Select one or more of the following check boxes to display process instances by Status. To preview the number of process instances for each status, see the number displayed in parenthesis next to each check box.
- Active
- Completed
- Executing
- Failed
- Late
- Suspended
- Click Person to display process instances related to a user name (the person that the process instance is assigned to, or the person who started the process). From the Select Person window, search on a name. Both full names and user names are displayed. Then select a name.
- Expand the list of Process Applications and select one or more process applications to display only the process instances for those selected applications.
- Click the calendar icons to select From and To dates for the Date Range to display process instances from a specific time period.
- Type text in the search text box to display process instances that contain specific text.
- Sort the list of process instances by either the date or severity. Under Sort by, select either Date of Last Action or Severity.
What to do next
To see more details for specific process instances, including activities, and snapshot information, select one or more process instances displayed in your results list.
