Install Business Process Manager Advanced on a single machine

You can install BPM Advanced with Process Center, Process Designer, Integration Designer, Business Monitor, and a Process Server test environment on a single machine. You can install the advanced edition of BPM on a single machine to evaluate the product or to work offline.

IBM Business Monitor 8.0.1 must be installed in a separate cell and on a separate installation of WebSphere Application Server from BPM.

Use this task to create the BPM environment on a single machine, including the following requirements:

• Install IBM Business Process Manager, Advanced
  • Install Process Designer

• Install Business Monitor
• Install Integration Designer

• Specifying the Process Server test environment

1. Install BPM, Advanced. Use the following information to complete this step: Install IBM Business Process Manager Advanced. Choose the Process Center path in the typical installation process.

   Remember: Installing BPM Advanced also installs Process Designer.

2. Use PMT to create a Process Server profile. Use the following information to complete this step:
   • Configure profiles and create a network deployment environment
   • Configure profiles and create a network deployment environment
   • Configure profiles and create a network deployment environment
   • Configure profiles and create a network deployment environment

3. Install Business Monitor. Use the following information to complete this step: Install the IBM Business Monitor software

   To use IBM Business Monitor 8.0.1 with BPM, also complete the steps in the following procedure: Monitor process applications with IBM Business Monitor 8.0.1.

4. Install Integration Designer.
   1. Prepare the installation using the following information: Prepare to install

   2. Use the launchpad to perform the installation with the following information: Install from the product launchpad Choose the last option: Install Integration Designer only.

5. Set the Process Server test environment. Use the following information to configure the Process Server test environment: Create a server in the test environment

You have completed the installation of BPM on the machine, including all of the following requirements:

• Installed all required binary files
• Silently installed Process Designer
• Installed Business Monitor
• Installed Integration Designer
• Specified the Process Server test environment

You are ready to use BPM on the machine:

1. Start Process Center.

2. Start Process Designer or IBM Integration Designer.

   Close Process Designer or Integration Designer if you are not using them for an extended period of time.

3. Start the Process Server unit test environment, as needed.
