Use WebSphere Business Integration Adapters

These adapters do not comply to either the J2C architecture or the Enterprise Metadata Discovery specification, yet can be used with the external service wizard.

The IBM WebSphere Business Integration Adapters adapters do not comply to either the J2C architecture or the Enterprise Metadata Discovery specification. To use the WebSphere Business Integration Adapters to develop imports and exports, follow these steps:

The WebSphere Business Integration Adapter artifacts must first be created using the toolset provided with the WebSphere Business Integration Adapter Framework. Unlike the IBM WebSphere Adapters, none of these adapters are supplied for development purposes.

To use a WebSphere Business Integration Adapter with a Process Server, follow these steps:

  1. Migrate the artifacts used by the WebSphere Business Integration Adapter to those expected by the Process Server.
  2. Install and configure the migrated application.

A series of articles shows how to configure a business process on IBM Business Process Manager and invoke the business process whenever an event is notified by the WebSphere Business Integration Adapter. In the first article, you set up event notification. In the second article, you implement a Java component that sends a synchronous request message to the WebSphere Business Integration Adapter and receives a response from it. In the third article, you set up a one-way asynchronous request message from the Process Server to the WebSphere Business Integration Adapter.
